Spent 20 years, plus a little in the USAF, retiring in early 1995. Retirement for me didn’t really mean I stopped working. It was more like I worked when and where I WANTED to work instead of where I HAD to work. That included repairing two way radios for a friend’s consumer electronics shop, managing a flea market for 7 years for another friend. And maybe my best job of fitting and repairing custom wheelchairs for the company that supplied my wife’s chairs. The reward of giving some mobility, some independence back to someone is truly special.
I spent my spare time on Ham Radio, Boy Scouts, Civil Air Patrol, volunteer EMT service to the Fire Department, Search and Rescue for the county and hiking whenever and wherever I could. I’ve cut back to mostly hiking, wood craft and gardening.
I’ve been blessed with a great family who has supported me in too many ways to list. We lost my Wife, Sue, in June of 2022. My daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren have rallied around me in support. Like I said, “Truly Blessed!”

So, So grateful to the committee members that made the 50th reunion happen. I would be up to having more reunions, especially the picnic style, in the future.
The number of missing friends was quite sobering (whether they just didn’t come, couldn’t be found or had passed away). Maybe with a few casual get togethers we can attract those who we were missing and see our friends that might not make it another 10 or 20 years.
Just my rambling thoughts as an old retired guy. And I’ll be glad to help with the next get together.
Thanks again to all who made the 50th reunion so great.
